私は、ステッチやカリグラフィのラインのすっきりとしたシンプルさに惹かれます。白と黒のミニマリズムの中にはゆったりとした優雅さがあり、私はいつもそこに赤のタッチを加えています。赤、黒、白を組み合わせた服やジュエリーを身につけることすらあります。私は写実主義者ではありませんし、具象的な作品は作りませんが、これらの作品にある線や形は、見る人が想像力を膨らませるための出発点となります。ミシンで速く縫っても、手でゆっくり縫っても、印をつけたりテクスチャーを作ったりする反復的でリズミカルなプロセスは、一種の瞑想のようなものになります。
I am drawn to the clean simplicity of stitched or calligraphic lines. There is a spacious elegance in the minimalism of black and white, to which I always add a touch of red. I even wear clothing and jewelry that combine red, black, and white. While I am not a literalist and do not create representational work, the lines and shapes in these pieces offer a launching point from which any viewer's imagination can take flight. Whether stitching faster by machine or slower by hand, I find that the repetitive and rhythmic process of making marks and creating texture becomes a kind of meditation.
